What is the African Wildlife Safaris’ Junior Development Team?

The AWSJDT is a not for profit organisation designed to give the serious junior cyclist a pathway through to the larger world of professional cycling. The purpose of the organisation is as follows:

…to provide junior cyclists with an opportunity to perform at their peak and achieve the goals they have set out. In addition it is designed to provide a potential pathway through to the upper echelons of the road cycling world.

The AWSJDT helps junior cyclists in the following ways:

• Providing a warm, supportive and friendly environment
• Provide an appropriate level of coaching
• Provide race day support including a dedicated Director Sportive and Professional Soigner.

What are the Benefits?

Riders

Riders will benefit by participating in a structured program that is designed get the best out of individuals by setting goals and working towards them. It will also provide a pathway for U19, U23 and NRS team participation, if ability and desire allow.

Parents

Parents will benefit from the program by being part of an ongoing and clear communication process designed to inform them of their child’s progress as well as the larger world of competitive cycling.
